I ENJOY MUSIC PREMIERE: Dream Dream Dream - "Thinkin About U"

We're doing something new and different at the end of 2025. A premiere! That's right, this blog post is the first you'll be hearing about the band Dream Dream Dream's new song "Thinkin About U," and its corresponding video. Hell yeah!!

Dream Dream Dream is the duo of longtime friends Matty Fasano (he of the music label House of Feelings) and Todd Goldstein (he of the NYC band Harlem Shakes). The two played together in Goldstein's post-Harlem Shakes band ARMS, and now they're playing together again; Dream Dream Dream are dropping a couple dream dream dreamy singles this year (including "Ancient Boulder, which I covered in a past megamix) before putting out a self-titled debut album in spring 2026. Ooh, 2026. It's coming. Lord help us all.

The band calls "Thinkin About U" "a dusty trip-hop number that sounds like a late-80’s shoegaze band playing a party at Factory Records' Hacienda club." Sometimes the logline is so good that I, the music blogger, can't top it, and so I must simply re-publish it.

What I love about this song—and about Dream Dream Dream's whole thing in general—is how it is Effusive, But Loose. Dream Dream Dream wants you to know how they feel. The vocals are yearning. The arrangement is lush. But there's room to breathe. They aren't pushing anything on you. The way they play feels unrestrained, even a little decadent. This is First Kiss Music. This is music for the after hours party, when everyone starts smoking their last cigs and figuring out whether they had the best night of their lives or not. This is something to throw on a mix for someone who has been occupying too much of your brain space. Remember 'mixes'? Remember telling someone how you feel by giving them a set of songs in a certain order?

The accompanying video, directed by C.C. Hancock, has everything you could want in a music video. Sexy lighting. Tinsel hanging from walls. A guy in a gorilla suit. What's not to love?
