SPEED WEEK part 5: the world's fastest playlist

Okay, probably not the world's fastest playlist, but it's certainly bursting with vim AND vigor. Thanks to everyone—including I Enjoy Music's musician friends and writer friends—for bringing the speed this week. I had so much fun!

Also thanks to Wagner Koop for the Speed Week banner graphic, and thanks to will.i.am for the video for "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" which provided me with a paragraph break graphic that fit the week's theme perfectly. "T.H.E." is one of my favorite kinds of fast songs, because it gets faster as it goes along; it also features a chaotic appearance by Mick Jagger ("hard like geometry / and trigonometry / this is crazy / psychology"), one of only three times he's ever done a guest spot on someone else's single, apparently. With an innate respect for technological innovation and a long history of making upbeat party music ("L'chaim"), will.i.am. atop a Siemens Velaro high-speed train serves as an appropriate avatar for Speed Week.
